Booking is simple and takes just a few minutes.
Simply pick a date on my calendar (I recommend aiming for anywhere from 26-34 weeks pregnant), sign the digital contract, and pay the $650 base package, which includes your session and 5 digital images.
Don't see a time that works? Reach out with a few options — I’m always happy to find something that fits.
Once you’re booked, you'll fill out a short questionnaire to help me get to know you and your session goals.
You'll also get a prep guide that covers everything from what to bring to your session, to tips for a smooth session, and answers most common questions — but if anything is unclear, I’m always here to help.
I’ll check in again the week of your session to confirm the details and see if you need anything.
On session day, we’ll spend about 2 to 3 hours in the studio together — though I’m flexible if we need extra time.
My goal is to ensure you're completely comfortable the entire time. We'll review your wish list of shots and typically start with easy, simple, clothed poses to get you used to the camera (i.e. no nude shots until/unless you're ready). No pressure!
If you need a break, a snack, or anything else, we’ll roll with it. I don’t charge by the hour, so we can take our time.
So, take a breath, relax, and if your partner is participating and needs a pre-session bevvy, I say go for it! ;)
About 3-4 weeks after your session, you’ll receive a beautiful slideshow of your full gallery (usually 30-40 images), followed by access to the full set for browsing.
From there, you can choose to upgrade your package (most families do)! You’ll have 3 simple upgrade options, each including more digitals and a generous print credit.
Upgrade within 24 hours and receive a bonus print credit on the top collection — just a little thank-you for decisive clients.
Optional Upgrades
Upgrade to Collection C within 24 hours of slideshow delivery and receive an extra $100 print credit (for a total of $600!)
Bonus:
"Having never done a photo shoot before I was so grateful for Katie’s easy going nature and professionalism. "

- Terra

Once you've selected your upgrade (or decide to stick with your base package), your full gallery will stay open for a year.
You’ll have 30 days to use your print credit, download your images, and shop the gallery store — filled with hand-picked, high-quality products from Canadian professional print labs.
There’s no rush to order more, but you’re welcome to come back anytime — especially for holidays or gift seasons!
I'm a big believer that images aren’t meant to solely exist in a digital space. One day, most likely, Instagram will be gone, your phone will be replaced, and images that you can physically hold in your hand will be the best way to remember your beautiful life and the people in it.
Think about this fact: twenty-five years ago, if I had delivered you digital images, they would have been on a floppy disk. Ten years later it's a CD. Unless you're a vintage tech collector, you would have no way to access those images today. Even the online galleries I deliver will eventually be wiped.
But prints? Those last. Those you can hold in your hands. I bet your family still has images from your grandparents (maybe even great grandparents.) And that was likely from a time period when cameras were expensive and prints were harder to come by.
Perfect for those who value legacy. These heirloom albums are a great way to house a large number of images in a beautiful way. Leave them on display as coffee table books or protect them with a legacy box.
Our framed and matted prints are the perfect way to fill your walls with memories. With a variety of frames to choose from, we’ll help you select the perfect image pairings for your space.
Details for ordering will be delivered with your gallery
Easy to hang and easy to change out. Canvases are one of our favorite ways to decorate a space. They also work great on little easels placed around the home.
Yes, you are welcome to print the images on your own. If you do this, I recommend looking for a high quality printer. While 10 cent prints sound great in theory, the cheaper printing quality often won’t do your images justice. Paper quality, color correction and a handful of other factors play a big role in the way your prints turn out. That’s why I include a generous print credit with every collection, so you don't have to chance it with the big box printer.

While I don’t guarantee an exact number of images, I will make sure I capture your family thoroughly. Most families should expect to see between 50-100 images in their slideshow and preview gallery following their session. Depending on the collection you choose, you will then be able to select and download your "keepers" and print what you wish with your print credit.

Once you've decided on your preferred collection, your gallery will be available to you for a year, should you lose them within that time frame. After that, it's archived and may be deleted altogether. This is why I highly recommend downloading all your images to several devices. Consider investing in a portable, waterproof external hard drive as well as cloud storage. And, of course, printing your photos is the best way to ensure you have access to them for generations!

While turnaround times can vary by season, I aim to get you your preview gallery within four weeks of your session.

Life happens and you can't argue with the weather. Plus, as a mom of three, I've seen my fair share of plans derailed by sick kiddos! For this reason I leave enough room in my calendar to be able to shift your session, if needed.

I do love to share select images from new sessions once in a while, to ensure my online presence represents my style as it evolves. However, I don't share images from every single session I photograph, and I certainly won't share your photos if you're not comfortable with that.

I typically plan about 60-90 minutes for family sessions. While we likely don’t need to be shooting this entire time, this does give us the flexibility for location changes, rowdy kids and time to warm up.

I do light retouching on all of my images. This means that if there are any glaring objects that should be removed (such as a scratch from the tumble your toddler took that morning,) I’ll remove it. Larger edits (such as removing tan lines, wrinkles in clothing, skin rashes, slimming, etc.) require more time and would require me to add additional editing fees to your collection.

Absolutely! You can purchase prints directly through your online gallery, which connects with two of the top professional photo labs in Canada. If you prefer a different lab, you’re free to download your images and print wherever you like. That said, I highly recommend using my lab—the print quality is exceptional!
